"Your group name is Obiang."
"Huh?"
(slower) "Obiang"
"What?!"
(impatient) "O...B...I..."
"Yes I know. What the hell?!"

There really isn't anything much to blog about. Yes, David, we're more bored here in Singapore than you are in Melbourne with the Grammar Boyz, believe it or not. The JIP, which everyone was vaguely excited about at first, has turned out to be a monumental waste of time.

How To Use The Graphic Calculator:
1) Switch it on. (we acutally spent 5mins on this.)
2) Find the GRAPH button.
3) Press it.
4) Enter the equation.
5) Read the graph.

Aren't you glad that you woke up at 6am and dragged yourself on a 1hr MRT journey just so you could attend this 40 minute lesson on How To Use The Graphic Calculator?

Either way most RI guys will probably be using the graphic calcuator like this--

1) Switch it on during maths lessons
2) Play Super Mario Bros
3) Avoid getting caught.

So much more effective, no?

On another note, I've finished most of my CCA tryouts, except for Bridge, which I doubt will pose any problem because they essentially accepted everyone who signed up for it, so I wholly intend to stride into whereever the training's gonna be held tmr and declare myself a member. With considerably less flair and theatrics, of course.

Thankfully JIP's ending soon, which means that the nonsensical times that we have to keep at school (8-9 for random JIP modules, 5 hours of stoning followed by CCA tryouts in the afternoon) will be no more. Orientation's next week, though, and I wonder what that will bring...

I realise I've been alternating been being fanatically hopeful and depressed lately. This has to stop, seriously, and it had better stop at fanatically hopeful because I'm pretty sure that being stuck in a permanent state of depression would suck.

And no, not referring to something trivial and stupid (not so sure about that, come to think of it) like CCAs here, cmon, I wouldn't emo over CCAs. Not for that long, anyway...

Happy CNY to all.

Nothing, and I say this with complete confidence (for once), nothing else today can make my mood worse than it already is. Not david quoting me out of context, not 4 pubs feeding and leaving, not my sec4 chinese teacher knocking on my door and asking to see my parents.

Life is damn fucked up sometimes, and this is one of those times.

Okay so drumming auditions was damn screwed up, because

1) I thought they'd play stadium arcadium on a stereo or something and let me drum along to it BUT instead they asked me to play it on my ipod and drum along. With my ipod set to max volume I still couldn't hear the song clearly and went offbeat twice + filled in too early.

2) Their bass drum pedal is seriously DAMN LOOSE it's virtually impossible to spam bass/doublebass because it swings so much. So yea my freestyle was filled with awkward bassing.

Either way, if I get in, good; if I don't get in I'll probably emo for awhile then go on with life.

[c=9]thomas~[/c] Envies them. says:

[c=9]thomas~[/c] Envies them. says:

hw` says:

hw` has left the conversation.

(yes, still on the same topic...)

Amusingly enough, after blogsurfing, almost everyone has written a post either
1) ranting over the PW teacher
2) praising the PW teacher

If this goes on any longer I'll start keeping track of who's for and who's against and take bets on the eventual outcome, how about that.

On another note, I managed (after much Googling) to get the entire Helliconia Trilogy on my iPod. Bus journeys will never be as boring again...

So yesterday we had our PW/Maths subject briefing talk, yknow, the ones where the teachers stand at the podium in front of a few hundred people and alternate between telling all of us how difficult the subject's gonna be, what the subject's going to be like and shouting at all of us to shut up.

Maths wasn't very useful, since KBH (his successor seems to have inherited his unique lack of sense of humor too) already covered everything he said in the waning days of his reign, but PW was interesting. Not just because the teacher sounded like she was on the verge of crying throughout the entire lecture.

To summarize her lecture, PW in JC's going to be
1) important,
2) damn difficult, and
3) as guys, we are destined for failure as we are lazy, unable to do contribute beyond inserting pictures into reports, and it is only by the grace of our counterparts in RG that we will be able to avoid failing PW and descending into a state of depression.

You have to pity RI teachers, they spend 4 years reading RE reports in the form of picture books...

So obviously her discrimination got a few people pissed off, including Jiajin and Jianxiong (who tried to disguise his angst and anger as a philosophical post about the increasing strength of the feminist movement in recent decades and the boundaries to which it should be limited), but in all honesty why is everyone unhappy over some teacher's opinions?

(Unless she turns out to be my PW teacher, in which case I'll probably emo here virtually every day.)

Oh yeah, she needs to be slightly less liberal with her punishments, too...

First day of school consisted of various admin matters, a 5-min address from The Principal, the usual people trying to flirt with everyone else, and a 4 hour sex ed workshop that neither touched on sex nor was educational in any way.

Strangely enough, the SE workshop today for buckley buckle hullet hadley was actually on topic instead of useless content regarding family relationships. Maybe the RJ administration figures that bayley/waddle people have awful familial relationships. I know I do...

On a seperate note, can someone tell me HOW TO GET INTO THE RJ LIBRARY?!

Beethoven Virus is the new background music, because it sounds nice. Anyone who disagrees with me has no taste in music at all.

Silence outing 2 days ago was damn fun(ny), but I'm too lazy to blog about it.

At least I'm furiously enjoying the last few dwindling days of the holidays.

O LEVEL RESULTS OUT ON MONDAY GG LA SERIOUSLY

I am damn sad because I finally finished watching Avatar, despite the best efforts of The Person In Charge Of Programming At Okto.

Look, who the hell decides to pull a series (and a popular one, at that) with no prior warning in the middle of it's final season and, here's the best part, replace it with something idiotic like Jackie Chan Adventures?

I have nothing against Jackie Chan, btw, but he should stick to movies and not kids' cartoons. I was tempted to write a Letter Of Complaint, yknow, putting what we learnt in Chinese to good use, until I realised that searching the internet for the remaining episodes was far easier.

For a children's cartoon (not even an anime, but a cartoon by Nickelodeon) it's certainly impressive. Except that, like all American cartoons, it insists on having completely useless filler episodes every now and then. Still, it's better than Pokemon, which, as far as I can remember, consisted entirely of filler episodes.

Conclusions:
1) otko sucks.
2) go watch Avatar.

Just so you know...

Some Singaporeans have a belief that people from RI are lifeless muggers who spend Fridays (and most of the other days of the week, actually) studying.

People from RI have a belief that aforementioned Singaporeans are idiots.
