Watched Batman Begins last night. A decent movie, but I honestly can't see why I liked it so much in the first place. It's pretty standard--essentially no different from any other superhero movie, etc, etc.

Scarecrow--the villian, for all those Unknowing People--is way too weak. He needs a buff. Seriously.

The movie also suffers from a Hollywood Illogicality. Stupid things that don't make sense happen because, well, no Hollywood action movie is complete without it. Train compartments do not spontaneously combust into a huge, all-encompassing, and convenient fireball without reason. Petrol + Lighter does not a ridiculously large fireball make, either.

All in all, pretty much a waste of my time, although far better than The Noose which came on after the news which came on after the movie (oh look it's a run on sentence.)

I've been really busy over the past three days, what with birthdays, celebrations, gatherings--family gatherings, which seem to have a markedly higher rate of attendance than certain other types--competitions and so on. Tiring, but a welcome change from daily routine. Now if only these things happened less sporadically.

Monday was the SIMtech Challenge. To cut a long story short, I have roughly three weeks to figure out how to model and subsequently solve a 6x6-styled mathematical problem using the simulation software they've forced us to use. Believe me, it IS easier than it sounds. The fact that I'm nowhere close to solving it is but a minor point.

(On a seperate note, the entire SIMtech building is built like a zoo. Small, closed enclaves with glass panels for us to look in, each housing an employee/researcher/scientist (optionally mad). Jokes abound.)

Plenty of interesting things happened today. Unfortunately, none of them happened to me.

This is precisely the reason why I am so bored most of the time.

More things than usual happened today. Where shall I begin?

-My noob cheap beginner's drum set arrived today! Yes, it doesn't sound like much, but discount the first 2 adjectives--and you arrive at the Essential Point.

Time to post photos, since only one person has found this place so far and I should treasure this rare opportunity to photospam without people posting comments like "eh noob drumset la" or "made in china izzit?" or "ahahahaha i own you i can drum with one finger" or stuff like that.

A single photo does not spam make.

Rosyth gathering today as well. The least I can say is that the phrase 'Rosyth gathering' is in itself an oxymoron, and should be replaced with something far more appropiate.

You see, a Gathering is not a Gathering when almost everyone there see each other on a weekly, if not daily, basis. That wasn't to say it wasn't fun, though.

In no particular order:

-Scrabble. It's always fun to beat Hongrui. By around 15-20 points. Fun indeed.

-Soccer. Ever wanted to watch someone like Jinghui get repeatedly owned by Jianxiong? Now you can.

-Bridge. Enough said.

-Texas Hold 'Em. I have a nagging feeling we've missed out on a few key rules when we were playing; constant shouts of ALL IN bode not well. Especially when the game ends with Jinghui bankrupt and Hongrui with approximately 200 creditpiecethings.

-Risk. Dice hate me. It's a mutual feeling.

Ah yes, bloody stupid things happened when we were walking home, but that is a tale for Another Day.

Nothing much happened today.

Don't you love it when someone blogs about nothing happening at all?

But this post has a Purpose, at least, namely--

MY DRUMSET IS COMING IN TOMORROW. whoot whoot.

Yes, it's a noob brand, etc, but then again, it's a beginner's set. And I am, if anything, a Beginner.

A rose by any other name...

Will spam pictures tomorrow.

"...isn't it fun how time flies so quickly when we're enjoying ourselves?"

The one thing I hate about restarting a dead blog is that my inner perfectionist pesters me to change the pictures, layout, and other assorted niceties of the blog. Hence the change. Hence the half hour wasted.

Oh yes, another problem is the complete lack of traffic--although this time, I'm not really concerned; the less people find this the better.

(Remind me I said this once I start advertising my blog on MSN.)

On the positive side, I get to bullshit as much as I want without--or hopefully, at least--anyone stopping me.

Nothing much's really changed in these past 8 months, though. Other than the fact that I can now look at my drum scores in the past, and Laugh.

~Spring~ Extreme: B (S for this, without autopedal.)
Depend on You Extreme: A (S for this, without autopedal.)
Sunny Day Sunday Extreme: A (S for this without autopedal, SS with.)
Across the Nightmare Extreme: D (S for this with autopedal, A without.)

Records are made to be broken, after all.

Agnus Dei Extreme: A
Toccata Extreme: A
Model FT2 Extreme: A
Funky Sonic World Extreme: D (If I ever get A+ on this I can go off and own other people.)

8 months on, I'm still addicted.

Just so you know...

Some Singaporeans have a belief that people from RI are lifeless muggers who spend Fridays (and most of the other days of the week, actually) studying.

People from RI have a belief that aforementioned Singaporeans are idiots.
